Chelsea legend Pat Nevin says there’s plenty of time to catch the Blues

The Blues raced seven points clear at the top of the Premier League after beating Bournemouth on Boxing Day.

Chelsea brushed off the absences of key men Diego Costa and N’Golo Kante to sweep past the Cherries in a 3-0 win.

But former Stamford Bridge hero Nevin says Antonio Conte’s men aren’t home and dry yet.

Arsene Wenger’s Arsenal can catch Chelsea – says Nevin

“I don’t think they are that far ahead, I really don’t”

“There’s a number of people who’ve put them as favourites,” Nevin told Radio 5Live.

“But I don’t think they are that far ahead, I really don’t.

“I think Arsenal are at a reaching point.

“They’ve been on a brilliant run before two unlucky defeats.”

Arsenal got their title challenge back on track with a late 1-0 win over West Brom yesterday.

The Gunners lost at Everton and Manchester City before Christmas, but Olivier Giroud’s 86th minute strike ensured Arsene Wenger’s men lifted the gloom.

Manchester City are second in the Premier League, seven points off leaders Chelsea.

Liverpool trail Pep Guardiola’s side but will close the gap with victory over Stoke today.
