John Terry won’t leave Chelsea for China in January

The Chelsea captain wants to stay at Stamford Bridge to try and win a fourth Premier League title, according to the Mail.

Terry, 36, has been linked with several clubs in the Chinese Super League.

Former Chelsea managers Andre Villas Boas and Luis Felipe Scolari wanted to take him to Shanghai SIPG and Guangzhou Evergrande respectively.

Ex-Blues midfielder Gus Poyet was also interested in luring Terry to Shanghai Shenhua after being appointed manager last month.

Terry was weighing up a move to China but will reject any switch until the end of the season at least.

His contract runs out at the end of the campaign and is he unlikely to be offered a new deal.

John Terry has struggled with injury at Chelsea this season

Scolari’s side are expected to make Terry a offer when his Chelsea contract runs out.

The former England captain has had his injury problems this season and has made just two appearances since August.
