According to Italian website Calciomercato, Juventus chief Giuseppe Marotta has held talks with the Spanish club about signing midfielder N’Zonzi.
The former Blackburn star is high on the Serie A champions’ wish list but Sevilla informed Marotta they will hold out for his £25.5m (€30m) release clause to be triggered.
Juventus have no interest in paying that much for N’Zonzi, boosting Chelsea‘s hopes.
Blues boss Antonio Conte is considering signing a midfielder in January following the departure of Oscar.
Conte has seen his transfer kitty swell by £60m following the sale of Oscar to Chinese Super League side Shanghai SIPG.
Manchester City are also interested in N’Zonzi as a possible replacement for crocked midfielder Ilkay Gundogan, who is out for the rest of the season.
N’Zonzi, 28, has previous Premier League experience at Blackburn and Stoke.
He racked up nearly 200 appearances in the top flight before leaving the Potters for Europa League champions Sevilla for £7m in 2015.
