Chelsea and Tottenham are interested in signing Barcelona’s 18-year-old prospect Marc Cucurella, according to Sport.
Cucurella joined the club aged 14 and has been tipped for a big future by coaches at Barcelona. However, with no contract extension agreed, he could leave the club this summer.

The lack of a new deal is interesting the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham, both of whom are keen on signing the left-back. The Premier League rivals have scouted the teenager during youth games and have both been impressed with the performances of Cucurella.
However, the player himself is keen to develop at Barcelona as opposed to moving abroad, with the club and the player both keen to settle on a new contract. The club have contacted the player’s representatives in order to solve the situation, with Cucurella hopeful of becoming the first choice left-back in Barcelona B’s starting lineup.
The youngster’s path to the Barcelona first-team is currently blocked by the likes of Jordi Alba and Lucas Digne, with Alba being recognised as first choice ever since his move to the Catalan club back in 2012. Digne signed for the club earlier this year and has made eight La Liga appearances so far this season.
Everton are also said to be interested in Cucurella, with Leighton Baines now seen as an experienced member of the side with Bryan Oviedo operating as his understudy.
Chelsea recently signed Marcos Alonso, who has been deployed as a wing-back during the first part of the season, while Danny Rose has cemented himself as Spurs and England’s left-back during the last year.
