Antonio Conte has guided Chelsea to the top of the Premier League

The Italian took charge at Stamford Bridge this summer after guiding his country at Euro 2016.

And he’s made a smooth transition back into club management, leading Chelsea to the top of the Premier League.

The Blues sit six points clear of second-place Liverpool ahead of their Boxing Day showdown with Bournemouth.

And, speaking to the Daily Mail, former Chelsea star Sutton has opened up on Conte.

Asked who the top flight’s best gaffer is, he said: “At the moment you would have to say Antonio Conte.

“Nobody saw Chelsea turning things around as quickly as they have.

Former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton has been impressed by Antonio Conte this season

“Conte has shown the ability to adapt when Chelsea were having a bad spell and he is getting the best out of Eden Hazard and Diego Costa, who downed tools last season.

“Even in such a competitive season, Chelsea are six points clear at the top at Christmas.”

Chelsea can extend their lead at the summit to nine points providing they beat the Cherries and results elsewhere go their way next week.
