The two players have been suspended for one game after picking up five yellow cards each.
And it will force Antonio Conte to rotate the pair out of his squad, something he hasn’t done all season as both players have played almost every minute so far.
Alan Curbishley reckons that will give Bournemouth a chance to get a result against the Premier League leaders.
“They’re two big misses for Chelsea”
Alan Curbishley on N’Golo Kante and Diego Costa
He told Sky Sports: “They’re two big misses for Chelsea [Costa and Kante]. Probably, apart from [Eden] Hazard, them two have been the best two players.
“The goals that Costa’s been getting and in midfield Kante’s been fantastic. It may be an area they [Bournemouth] could exploit.
“If you to Stamford Bridge and you see the team sheet comes in without them two on it, it does give your team a bit of a lift, it must do.
“I think Eddie Howe will be looking at that and thinking perhaps that could be a chance to go and get a goal, especially what they did their last year (winning 1-0 in December).
Bournemouth have been solid so far this season, sitting in 10th place in the league.
And they’ll be hoping they can end Chelsea‘s current 11-game winning streak that’s seen them go six points clear at the top of the table.
