Willian has spoken of the support he recently received from the Chelsea Football Club and manager Antonio Conte.
The Brazilian midfielder lost his mother, Maria Jose Borges, in October after a long battle with a brain tumour.
Willian was granted time off by the Blues to fly back to his homeland to attend to his family and although it was a very tough time, he has revealed the lengths Conte and the club went to help make it a little bit easier.
“It has been a difficult time for me. I lost my mum. It has been very difficult emotionally,” he said.
“She was very important for me and she always will be very important to me.
“After she died, I stayed in Brazil for a week. Slowly I have come back and started to feel better and to feel I can play for the team. Now I have to think only about the good things and to keep working, keep playing. That’s what I want to do.
“The manager talked to me and told me to stay concentrated, to work hard in training, and when I come back into the game, to do my best. He helped me.”
