Antonio Conte’s side were paired with the winners of the second-round tie between Peterborough and Notts County in the draw.
The two teams face off at the Posh’s ABAX Stadium after League Two outfit County bagged an injury-time equaliser to snatch a replay earlier this month.
League One side Peterborough are favourites to progress and manager Grant McCann is confident of victory.
“It’s a massive match”
“It’s a massive match,” McCann admitted.
“There is a great incentive to win the game, but we have to remember that County will have the same incentive.
“They are on a bad run and they’ve had off-field problems, but they will be as motivated as we are to win.
“They will be at it and we must be prepared.”
County boss John Sheridan is determined to secure the glamour fixture at Stamford Bridge.
“It’s a massive game for us,” Sheridan said. “Financially it can help us and there’s the attraction of going to Chelsea.
“It’s a big, big game that could turn our season around.
“I would love to go to Chelsea, Mark Crossley would love to go there, Alan Smith’s been loads of times and would love to go back – and I’m hoping the players would love to go there more than anyone.
“A lot of them will never get the opportunity to play there again.”
The FA Cup third round tie is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 8.
