The 21-year-old loanee defender has shone for the Cherries this season, having scored three goals in eight starts.

“And I’ve no doubt that next year he’ll go back to Chelsea and play in their side.

“I personally feel he’s more than good enough, especially with the system they’re playing now.

“And it’s a credit to him because he’s worked really hard, even when he wasn’t in the team, and he deserves all the praise he’s getting.”

Antonio Conte could choose to recall Nathan Ake from his Bournemouth loan

Chelsea have been linked with moves to several high-profile defenders ahead of the January transfer window.

But they could look to one of their own young talents to deepen their defensive line.

Ake’s only made five senior league appearances for the Blues since arriving at the youth academy in 2011.
