Diego Costa’s first-half header was enough to earn a 1-0 win for the Blues, their eleventh in a row in the Premier League.
Pardew’s Palace lost to Manchester United in midweek but performed well in that match and made it tough for Chelsea today as well.
The Eagles manager was pleased with his side’s display but admits it’s difficult to beat teams with such top quality players.

“They ask questions and do not make errors. N’Golo Kante gives so much energy like he had at Leicester and fills holes which goes unnoticed.”
He added: “We are showing in the last two games what we have shown most of the year. A strong performance but they did not give us anything.
“That was a good defensive display. Once we conceded, it was very difficult. It is a shame because we had some good chances in the first half.
“We kept the ball and passed it well, but they final pass was very difficult.
“For our offensive players, it was the toughest game they have had. This team is not getting what it is deserves, that will change.
“It was a crucial goal before half time like Manchester United scored.
“It is about points now, we are up against teams in and around us. I take heart from the last two performances. We deserved something.”
Palace now make the short trip across London to take on Watford on Boxing Day.
