Chelsea target Tiemoue Bakayoko GETTY

Tiemoue Bakayoko has emerged as a target for Chelsea

Antonio Conte’s side seem happy to let their Brazilian midfielder join Chinese side Shanghai SIPG for £60m in January.

And the Times say they’ve got their eye on 22-year-old Bakayoko should Oscar leave Stamford Bridge next month.

Their report says Conte prefers the Frenchman’s athleticism and physicality to Oscar’s playmaking style, which has seen him outcast from the first team since the Blues started their current 10-match winning run.

Chelsea aren’t going to be put off the bulky price tag either, as Oscar’s sale will raise more than enough to cover the costs.

The Times add Chelsea’s technical director Michael Emenalo has scouted Bakayoko several times this year delivering positive reports.

And Conte has seen the midfielder in action when he travelled to watch Monaco’s Champions League game with Tottenham earlier in the year.

Oscar looks set to leave Chelsea in January

Chelsea are hoping to add defensive reinforcements in January as well.

But they face a battle in their bid to land £30m-rated defender Niklas Sule from Hoffenheim.

The Bundesliga outfit have told the Premier League table-toppers they have no intention of selling in next month’s transfer window.
