The Spaniard – who joined Stamford Bridge back in 2012 – has become an integral member of the Blues squad under Antonio Conte.
Azpilicueta has made 16 Premier League appearances this season and has been a constant part of the team that has won 10 straight top flight matches.
“It’s a good number, when I arrived I wouldn’t have imagined I would play that many games,” he told the Chelsea website.
“I just want to keep going because obviously I have a lot more to give. It’s a nice figure to reach but I want to achieve more because I feel I can, I want to win more trophies for this club.
“I always try to give my best and respond to what [Antonio Conte] wants”
Chelsea ace Cesar Azpilicueta
“I’ve improved a lot. When I first came I was a right-back and in the first few months I wasn’t playing too much.
“There was then a transition where I ended up playing as a left-back for a long time and now I’m playing as part of a three-man central defence.
“I always try to give my best and respond to what the manager wants. Playing in different positions enables you to improve and learn.”
Azpilicueta has warned of the dangers today’s opponents Crystal Palace will provide at Selhurst Park.
“We want to keep our place at the top of the table, we know we are there because we’ve been working hard as a team.
“We’ve been training well and getting our rewards, but there is a long way to go. We have to stay focused because we know how quickly things can change.”
Chelsea are currently top of the Premier League, six points clear of Liverpool.
