According to Corriere dello Sport, the Atalanta midfielder’s agent has travelled to London hoping to discuss a transfer deal with Antonio Conte.
George Atangana reportedly decided to make the trip after Juventus dropped their interest in Kessie, 20.
A number of midfielders have been linked with a move to Chelsea in the January transfer window and Conte could step up his hunt if Oscar completes his move to Shanghai SIPG.
“Franck Kessie has been compared to compatriot Yaya Toure”
Kessie has made a huge impression in Serie A this season, hitting five goals in 14 appearances, with Atalanta flying high in the table.
He has been compared to compatriot Yaya Toure and his agent revealed last month that Arsenal have been following his progress.
“They [Arsenal] were here in Italy to watch him,” Atangana told Goal.
“Arsenal are a good team but there are a lot of teams interested in him so they’re not the only possible destination.”
“I like the English league, now I have to learn the Italian tactic and then maybe one day to go to Manchester United.
“I do not know if there will be even [Jose] Mourinho, but the team I always liked.”
Kessie joined Atalanta in 2015 but spent the season on loan in Serie B with Cesena.
He is under contract until 2021.
