Premier League bosses face the annual dilemma of whether to summon their squads in for training ahead of their Boxing Day fixture.
Despite his Chelsea team racking up nine wins on the spin and sitting top of the Premier League tree, Grinch-like Conte will drag his players in to the club’s Cobham HQ.
“The players will definitely train on Christmas Day”
“It is important to plan training sessions but also to see how things go because you can make changes for various reasons.” he said.
“The players will definitely train on Christmas Day, for sure, but it could be either in the morning or the afternoon.”
Conte has also told his Chelsea players to forget about a Christmas knees-up.
Starsport earlier reported that the club have organised a small get-together for the players with their wives and children.
But Conte does not want his players going overboard and he said: “I think Christmas is a particular day and the best thing is to stay with your family.
“It’s important to celebrate Christmas, yes, in the right way. I must be honest, I’d prefer they stayed at home and celebrated with the family. Not a great party.”
