Chelsea U18 coach Jody Morris says they won’t underestimate FA Youth Cup opponents Cardiff City.

It is a remarkable statistic but the Blues have lost just two ties in the competition in eight years.

But Morris told chelseafc.com: “I’ve always been of the feeling that, despite its prestige and hype, it is still knockout football. We’ve seen so many times at first team level that it’s not always the best side that wins a cup competition.

“That’s why I’m just as focused on trying to win the league this season, although of course I know that the Youth Cup is a trophy that every young player up and down the country dreams of winning.”
