Chelsea have announced their third kit for the 2016/17 season, following similar announcements by Manchester United and Liverpool earlier on Friday morning.
The announcement took the form of a picture on social media of defender Gary Cahill with midfield pair Oscar and Nemanja Matic – just days after Antonio Conte confirmed that the club would turn down any bids from Juventus for the latter man.
The kit itself appears to be an attempt from adidas to create the most unremarkable strip possible, in stark contrast to Liverpool’s ‘Toxic’ green monstrosity and United’s stylish black and white number.
The kit has a plain white base, with only the Yokohama Tyres sponsorship and standard club/adidas badges breaking up the front of the shirt.
Three new third kit releases today. Liverpool’s is dire, United’s is gorgeous, Chelsea’s is…so, so boring. Full set! #FanVoice

Understated blue trim around the collar and sleeves adds a border to keep the crippling boringness (definitely a word) contained, while the signature adidas stripes down the side add the only thing resembling character to the entire ensemble.
