Chelsea striker Diego Costa could be one step closer to a move away from Stamford Bridge after he made a post to Instagram ‘thanking’ his Chelsea team mates.
The 27-year-old sat out of Chelsea’s friendly with Liverpool on Wednesday, and it was probably for the best as the feisty affair saw the referee award 37 fouls, six yellow cards and a red-card to fellow Spaniard Cesc Fabregas.
England defender Gary Cahill scored the only goal of the game to decide the tie at 1-0. As a result, a number of Chelsea players took to social media to celebrate the win, including Diego Costa.
Costa, however, chose not to post about the Liverpool friendly, instead he felt it was a perfect time to thank his team-mates.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Willian, Cesc Fabregas and Pedro are sat alongside Costa, who posed with his thumbs up.
The post was accompanied with the caption: “Thank you very much for all my friends!!!”
His message has sent the Spanish press into a frenzy, with numerous reports claiming that Costa will return to his former club Atletico Madrid at some stage this summer.
Another thing to note is the Chelsea striker’s change of avatar on Instagram, changing it to a generic football logo, which could suggest that his allegiance with Chelsea is on the down-turn.
