Former Chelsea defender Ashley Cole caught up with past Blues mates at the team’s hotel in Los Angeles as the squad prepared to face Liverpool in a friendly match scheduled for Thursday.
The now-LA Galaxy player made 338 appearances for the Stamford Bridge club before departing for Roma in 2014. He won everything with Chelsea, and popped by to say his hellos on Wednesday.
“It’s good, it’s different from playing in Europe but it’s great to be back playing football regularly which I have missed for two years now,” said Cole, via Chelsea’s official website.
“The weather is great but we have to train and play in it, which makes it difficult at times. But the lifestyle here is brilliant and we have a good set of lads in the team, so we have fun but we still work hard.
“People talk about the MLS as being a bit slower than the Premier League or Europe, and it is, but a lot of that is because of the weather here. So when Chelsea play Liverpool it will still be hot and sticky.”
