EA Sports have announced Marco Reus as the global cover star for FIFA 17 after the Borussia Dortmund forward won the gaming company’s competition to feature on the front of its hit gaming series.
Manchester United’s Anthony Martial, Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and Real Madrid’s James Rodriguez were the other contestants EA had selected for the contest.
But it is Reus who will be on the front of FIFA 17 in September after gaining more votes than the trio.
Despite not making it onto the front cover of EA Sport’s upcoming release, Martial, Hazard and James have all been heavily involved in the restructure of gameplay in the upcoming FIFA, alongside Reus.
Martial helped influence FIFA’s new Attacking Techniques; Rodriguez helped influence the Set Piece Rewrite; Hazard helped influence the Physical Play Overhaul and Reus helped influence the game’s added Active Intelligence System.
Reus now joins the likes of Lionel Messi, Jordan Henderson, Hazard, Gareth Bale, Jack Wilshere, Wayne Rooney, Kaka and Ronaldinho, who have all featured on the front of FIFA games in recent years.
