The £30million summer signing replaced Diego Costa after 58 minutes as the Blues strolled to a 3-0 win against WAC RZ Pellets in a pre-season friendly last night.
Bertrand Traore, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Nathaniel Chalobah were all on the scoresheet.
Big things have been expected of Batshuayi, who has been likened to Didier Drogba.
And Conte is impressed with how Batshuayi has settled in in his first few days at the club.
“He has trained three days and today I wanted to see if after these three days he understood some tactical aspects,” Conte told the club’s official website.
“He can improve a lot, he can become a strong forward, he is very young but with great talent and I am happy with him.”
Meanwhile, with Sam Allardyce set to be named as England’s new manager, Conte has had his say on the matter.
He said: “I know Sam. I visited him at the West Ham training ground two years ago.
“I can say the experience is fantastic because you are the coach of your country and this is a great responsibility.
“You feel great pressure but it’s fantastic. You represent your country, your colours and I am happy for him if becomes the manager of the national team.”
